Mountain pose is my favorite pose in yoga. This pose looks easy but it is difficult to hold this pose with intention. I like to start my mornings when the sun rises. I roll out my yoga mat and stand at the front of it tall, balanced, still, and strong. I close my eyes to get deeper into the pose. I look inward and breathe deeply. I inhale slowly and exhale even slower. I ask myself two questions. What do I need today? What is my body telling me? I listen to my body and then respond by honoring what it needs.
